Rules of Conduct
« on: August 26, 2014, 06:57:28 AM »
The following comprises the rules and guidelines that ICE expects all members to abide by. These rules apply equally to regular posts, Personal Messages (PMs) signatures, user icons, and any other content you may have the ability to create on the forums.

This revision to the Rules of Conduct is meant to simplify things greatly for all posters.
* Remember this is the ICE Corporate forum - not a blog or general roleplaying site. Please refrain from posting regarding other companies products, linking to their pages or promoting their products without permission of Aurigas staff.

* Keep it Civil - Treat others as you would want them to treat you. Don't engage in personal attacks, name-calling, or blanket generalizations in your discussions. Do not belittle others, their opinions, or ideas.

* Keep it Clean - Don't use obscenities and avoid adult content (explicit or suggested) or link to sites with inappropriate content.

* No Trolling - Trolling is defined as attempting to start arguments or break forum rules; or inciting others to do so through posting something that will undoubtedly cause a negative reaction or post in response.

* One Account per Person - Each person on the forums is only allowed one account. Persons caught actively using multiple accounts will find both accounts banned for a length of time, and one of the accounts permanently banned.

* Valid Email Required - Since the email attached to your account is our only way to contact you off of the forums, it is required that your account maintain an active email address at all times. Failure to do so may result in your account being deactivated (but not until attempts have been made to communicate with you on the forums).

* Aurigas Staff and Forum Moderators determine what is or is not a violation - If you think that something is a violation of the ROC, then use the Report to Moderator feature at the bottom of every post and PM. Aurigas Staff and/or Forum Moderators will then determine whether or not the post was a violation and take appropriate action.

* Moderation should not be publicly challenged - If you feel that you were moderated unfairly, then send a PM to a Forum Moderator or Aurigas Staff and the moderation will be reviewed.

* Bans - Most bans will last from 3-7 days based on the severity of the infraction.  Multiple bannings or significant offenses may result in permanent removal from the forums.

* Forum Moderators - Please remember that the Forum Moderators are not employees of ICE, they are volunteers who help moderate the forums for ICE. When discussing game rules, their opinions are neither more nor less valid than our own.

Signature Specific Rules
* Rules of Conduct - A signature may not violate  any of the above Rules of Conduct. This includes the ROC rules against profanity. If you want to place a quote in your signature, that is fine, but the quote should not contain any profanity at all.

* Links: Any links within your signature must be direct links. No redirection links allowed.

And just to refresh your memories, here is the text of the Registration Agreement that you had to agree to when you registered on the ICE Forums.

You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize  that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

This email address is solely used for the purposes of notification of Personal Messages and/or new posts to threads/forums that you are Subscribed to by the forums, and will never be used, sold, or given away for advertising or any other purpose.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
