Cancelling actions & Haste/Adrenal Speed
« on: September 04, 2017, 02:41:10 AM »
The normal ruling for cancelling an action is that, if 60% or more activity are left for the round, the character may move 50% or melee at -40 or do a maneuver at -40. But what if the character is under the effect of a Haste spell or Adrenal Speed and has not only 60% activity left for the round before cancelling but 160% or more? Is he then still limited to the one melee attack at -40 (or the other options mentioned above)? Or could he do sth. like move 50% (like when cancelling in a normal, 100% activity round) and afterwards also attack at 100%

IMO both has its merits. Cancelling with 200% activity and then only being able to do a crippled attack at -40 seems somehow unfair. OTOH leaving the character with ~150 activity for the round could perhaps be abused.

Opinions?

I would go with the second option and penalise the first attack/move but not the second.

I would go for the second as well. A hasted character acts two round in the space of one (even bleeding and stun count twice). The second 100% is still completely available.

Thanks for your responses. We also went with the second option in yesterday's session. I'll report if we should encounter any kind of problems with this in the future.
