RMC Combat Companion / Print on Demand
« on: May 07, 2014, 02:01:34 AM »
Hi there,

I recently had the chance to take a look at the RMC-rules and was really happy to get them as print on demand at rpgnow.

Unfortunately, the "Combat Companion" is missing. Are there any plans to release this book in order to complete the set?

Many thanks,
Sebastian

AFAIK, the book will not be re-released any time soon.
But things can change very fast when stuff gets moving behind the scenes.

I really doubt you'll ever see it re-published and I have my doubts about it being redone.  Ebay is probably your best bet... or maybe waiting until a new RM version publishes something akin to it.

Well, that's a bummer. I thought this book was a regular expansion to the refurbished 2nd edition rules. Was there any specific reason why it was not published together with the others?

Thanks for the info. If it's contents are replicated in the other existing companions, I will simply stear clear.

Without going into detail, and having been in somewhat of the same position in the past if I am right, I suspect it's an author conflict.

Combat Companion will not be rereleased. Mjolnir failed to pay the artists involved. Based on the very weak sales it had for Mjolnir, it would be extremely uneconomic for us to pay off all the artists or to commission new artwork.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

What if the art was just left out?  Discount it a little, make it very clear there's no artwork in the book...?

Commissioning a new cover and redoing the layout would still cost more than I expect the product would recoup in a reasonable timeframe, Combat Companion will not return.

Thank you for the response. That is quite understandable.

I'll look for a used copy then.

What about re-issuing the content in Guild Companion issues?
