Zyax1 PC-NPC generator instructions?
« on: June 10, 2017, 11:22:50 AM »
Zyax,
Have you posted the instructions for the PC-NPC generator?
It looks cool and I'd love to use it, but I can't figure out how to use it.

I have not posted any instructions. The generator is old, probably over 20 years so I have forgotten most of the tricky parts of this but its useful still.

Its a little bit complicated but this was made when Excel was limited (maximum 7 nested functions in each cell for example).

Short description of how to use it:

1. Press F9 to randomize a new character.
2. If you want to lock a feature there are several fields that have the word "slump" written in white so you cannot see them (stupid solution but it works). Slump is the swedish word for random and make one field completely randomized when you press F9.
For example: If you dont want to randomize a special race, then change  the selector in A3 to whatever race you want and then the race is always what you wanted.
3. There are several hidden/whitefont texts in the NPC sheet that you can use.
A6 - How high will your stats become
A3 - Race
C3- Level
E3 - Profession
J3 + W3 Name of character
E34 - Background options

There are probably many more fields but I cant remember. If you find the word slump anywhere you may use that for something. Hope you can use it, there is plenty of information.

I can also say that there may be some rules that is optional that our group used when we played but I dont think it should really matter that much.
