At least partly out of interest and bloody-mindedness ... I've spent the last while creating an Excel (Office 2003 xls format) spreadsheet for HARPSF

If anyone liked the old JDale HARP sheet ... it's gonna look really familiar.

Please let me know if anything doesn't work!

Hi,

I'm trying to use your excell spreadsheet, it works fine except for tallying DPs.

When buying skills in favoured catagories it deducts 4DPs. Is there an easy fix for this (for the non-tech savvy)?

Yep .. I've realised that there are a couple of minor hiccups with the sheet (I'll upload a new one when I finally have time).

The cost calculation for all skills is referencing an absolute value (I$6). This  absolute value should change per category.

so ...
Artistic should be I$6
Athletic should be I$19
Combat should be I$27
Concentration (and each psionic discipline) should I$46
General should be I$54
Influence should be I$86
Outdoor should be I$92
Physical should be I$107
Scientific should be I$114
Subterfuge should be I$127
Technical should be I$143
Vehicular should be I$154

The following entry is the current entry for the skill cost of the first general skill

=(IF(A55+B55+C55+D55+F55>F$3,MAX(F$3-A55-B55-C55-F55,0),D55)+0.75*C55)*IF(I$6="Favored Category",2,4)

change this to

=(IF(A55+B55+C55+D55+F55>F$3,MAX(F$3-A55-B55-C55-F55,0),D55)+0.75*C55)*IF(I$54="Favored Category",2,4)

and then drag this cell down to the bottom of the general category.

rinse and repeat for each category.

There are a small number of other errors in the sheet; I do intend addressing those in the next version - but I'm very busy with real life (I'm working full time and studying for a MSc) so I can't guarantee a timeframe for delivery ...
