Perfect Cloud Lords of Tanara Miniature
« on: November 15, 2016, 04:32:34 PM »
The discussion of including miniatures in RPGs is as old as the game itself. While we used gummi bears in our earliest sessions as proxies for slain opponents (the player who defeated the enemy got to keep the "corpse"), the expectations towards the realism of told scenery grew over the years. I have been long lost to the miniature hobby and by today, even my best RM buddy (and still the best GM I have the honor to know), has also built an extensive collection of miniatures to enrich his games.

I don't know if you are also fond of building and painting up encounters for your games, but I just got my hands on a perfect model for a Cloud Lord of Tanara. I am hoping to have this nice set in the mail sometime next week. It's produced by Reaper and carries the number 3096.

As this is not your everyday model, I hope this reference helps out.

Very nice mini. I don't tend to use them much in my games, but I can definitely see the appeal.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Scratch that. Power attracts the corruptible.

Rules should not replace the brain and thinking.

How big of a "wand" are we talking about? I suppose the spears/lances can be converted to "staff"-sized wands with not too much effort. Anything below that would likely result in the weapon arm being redone with something more appropriate.

In most of the rounds I played in, players had a least one miniature to portray their character. Usually the GM stepped in and supplied the rest. Interestingly, the same situation gets a different "feel" once you lay it out on the table and draw the surrounding area with doors, windows and some interior.
