Topic: HARP & MERP combat similar?

I loved MERP back in the day.  It had a " combined critical " table, A crit had a penalty, E got a bonus, etc.

Is HARP combat similar to MERP?  I thought I read a review where they said it had a combined crit chart.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy the HARP system.  I really liked Rolemaster too , but wouldn't mind something a little simpler.

Any thoughts?
