This is a link to the TIBET rpg, and you can download the monastic version pdf for free. It's about the 1950?s in Tibet, but there are some nice bits of information in it.
You get a short historical overview of Tibet, as well as a timeline from 600 BC, and there is a thorough chapter on religion, magic and monastic traditions which you can use in historical settings as well.
