I actually knuckled down and spent the morning working on the new Eidolon adventures, writing 2 pages worth, and cleaning the format up a lt. Then I wandered into Haalkitaine and the sewers and catacombs. Three Indesign windows and four Word files open... I wonder if I could get someone to prescribe me some adderall.

Hand-outs are neat, I always like hand-outs and generally make my own when I can and feel it is necessary.

Terry, any ideas or sketches yet for the cover of Gryphonburg?

How about Eidolon? Are you permitted at all to use the artwork from the original cover, or do you want/prefer fresh new art that clearly states this is a new edition?

Cover art for Gryphonburgh is in the works. I do have a new cool cover for Eidolon, and it will have the same framed trade dress as the other recent SW books. I am including a smaller copy of the old cover art as an interior illustration, for old time's sake.

Watching Antiques Roadshow (The UK version of course! You're not likely to uncover a 500 year-old ring buried in a US garden) is inspiring for Shadow World artifacts and locations.

A little Wuliris update. It will not have the same massive quest, ancient history as Xa'ar. The Taranian legacy will be limited, but there will definitely be some SF adventures there. However, overall, Wuliris will be more of a current book, with a very diverse background.

I know there have been mixed opinions about Loremaster Legacy. What about a new fiction book with a series of short stories featuring different characters from the Shadow World?

I'm not a huge fan of short stories. I tend to find them too, well, short. I only read them if I have to, when events in them are referred to in main books in a series (eg, David Weber's Honorverse short story collections).

I tend to like story arcs that cover multiple books and they is what I buy.

I think most of my characters have been Chaotic Good or Neutral Good, but maybe that is an ingrained fear of too much law.

What about you? And how does that apply to your opinion about Shadow World?

My PC's have been all over the place with the vast majority being on the good side of NE.
But it can also depend on what version of D&D or other system I am playing in and what the restrictions or bonuses those alignments provide.

I tend to go with NG characters, but I am not sure how that should affect my opinion of SW.

I find that unless your campaign is based around breaking the law, assassinating people, or bringing down legitimate organizations or kingdoms, having an adventuring group that is basically evil is counterproductive to getting anything done. If played true to those alignments, the pursuit of wealth and power through murder and mayhem soon gets old and the characters inevitably prey upon one another, essentially imploding the game. That's if they are doing their alignments justice. Unless everyone is LE, any kind of loyalty soon flies out the window.

Moral of my story? If I want a lasting campaign, I disallow evil PCs.

I do as well, as a GM. Basically because I don't want to be running a game that is all about murder, theft, selfishness, and all that, it is not fun for me. Even when I run Shadowrun, I go away from the typical playstyle of them being mercenaries ("runners" in SR speak) because that sort of motivation is terrible, imo, and I do not want to propagate it as a viable/laudable lifestyle, even in fiction form. To me, those who do that stuff are the bad-guys, the enemy to be defeated.

Very final Gryphonburgh draft approved; now just awaiting last pieces of artwork to finalize the layout and cover before release!

Meanwhile working on Eidolon and Wuliris and edits to a submitted module.

What would happen if Andraax really went off the rails?

He would become a tyrant, Ondovals twin.  The war would be cataclysmic.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.
