I still have not gotten around to really playing around with this.  I always seem too busy to try.  You may already have such a method, but have you tried to make RMOffice customizable?  Allow users to modify it so it will fit their world?

Just wondering.  Off to download the latest.  With taking this summer off from school for some further data collection, I might find time to play with this thing.  From what I have seen, it looks really cool.

I really admit that this is excellent software, the best available so far. Thanks from it.

I have few proposals...

First comes from talents. I think that there should be option where player can type rolled dice result and choose which category (mental, physical and so on) which is used to determine talent + option to choose power of talent (lesser, minor etc). Same thing for the flaws too, but also option to choose level of flaw, and then program automatically calculates how many backgroundoptions are left to be used in next selection. Like it is explained in book.

Is it possible to get?

Second from random height and weight generation. Just an option :-)

Good news first ...
The random height and weight should be easy  :) I will add this function to the next version.

I already thought about your first proposal but this would be complicated(= many hours of work) to develop. I guessed that every Rolemaster user should be able to count up to 6 (background options) so I decided to not implement the background option counter. Such a feature isn't it worth the hours that I need for it. Take a pencil  ;)
And the talent/flaws are the hell for developing (=> RM is too complicate). The current solution took me months ... now you can add your custom talent/flaws. I'll improve the wizard for the next version, but I'm sorry more is not possible.

I've released RM Office 4.3.2 with some new great features like a new PDF Template, italian locale or custom race/culture support. Download http://rmoffice.sourceforge.net/. Here is a fulll change log:

Hi Magistrate and thanks for the excellent program! However there's something minor I noticed - the DP costs for Outrider seem to be slightly off, in case you want to have a look at them before you release the next version.

Okay, Running into an issue here.

When you add a Lifestyle or training package and you have Options that say "Distribute 1 rank to a skill of choice from this category"
How do I assign those ranks without it deducting More Development points. As that is what keeps happening?

Hi Magistrate,

In regards to the PDF export, with the skills list on page 3 you have a column on the end titled 'Item' that shows magical bonuses for those skills. Would it be possible to move the Item column to the left of the 'Total' column and then add that bonus to the Total? Much in the same way the 'Special' column in Skill Categorys adds to the total.

Also, you have an option to select armour type and shield type in the character screen but no option for a helmet or any other armour giving items. Would it be possible to implement these features?

Sliphsurfer, I thought some time about this and I decided to calculate the total bonus only from things that can't be removed from the character. Imagine your character has two swords +10, so the bonus would be +20 but you can use only one. Now you could say to mark one as default but that would cause more calculation if you use the other item (total - sword1 + sword2).
If you really want to have the bonus calculated to the total bonus you could create a custom flaw with sword +10 or you can add a custom bonus to the skill.

I don't understand the helmet thing. What is missing? You can add it the equipment or magical equipement with ability "-5 on db" or whatever you want.
If you want "armor giving" like the chain that counts as plate. That you can easily have with magical equipment: Add a description "Counts as AT18" and additionally DB +0 or Shield +0, so it will be printed in the near of the armor ... yes that thing is a little bit tricky, perhaps I can improve that ...
I think, if you want an armor AT 13 that counts as AT17, but has only penalties from AT13. So you have to select AT13 to get the penalties and add the magical item with description ...

I think RMOffice is a great idea, but is there any scope for an option to convert to 2nd edition or Classic Rolemaster Rules as RMPROT is a nightmare?

Is there a practical way to add professions, training packages, etc? Found the guidelines for races and cultures. I found that pretty useful. A Front-end to add such custom material would of course be preferred, but I appreciate the fact that you are doing this on your free time, so even a complicated way would be acceptable as long as it is can actually be done.

Hi Moostik, yeah a front-end would be nice, but you're right I have no time for further development. And I'm not playing RM anymore --> FATE is my rpg system, now.

Too add professions, etc. is similar but a bit more complex as for races+cultures. You have to edit the jar file itself.
Search for /conf/ folder and there are the profession and training package files. In the Git-Repo (http://sourceforge.net/p/rmoffice/code/ci/master/tree/rmoffice/src/main/resources/conf-src/) are the Open-Document source files for config files.
After that replace the config files in the jar and start the application.
But you will not find the errors in the log like races errors.
You can open a jar with 7Zip or WinRAR.

First of all, this is great, thank you so much for your work.

I have a question though, is there any reason why weight penalty can't be less than 0? What is the purpose then? Is there any change in the rules that I am unaware of?

 I do not know of any rule that says why a weight penalty can be less than zero. But a house rule might allow for some strange stuff. Or maybe the GM has some rules for changing size and uses some modifier to relate to the new sizes of items. ie in RMSS I have the large talent/flaw and all of my close weight 50% more and all of my other stuff weighs Z% more (I just made up those numbers and they are not from any book but I think you get the idea).
