What to use with MERP?
« on: May 08, 2016, 12:51:55 PM »
What Rolemaster supplements should be used with MERP? I've seen Arms Law and Spell Law (3 book version) suggested.

Creatures & Treasures is compatible and will greatly expand your encounters

I would suggest keeping the number of suppliments to the barest minimum. I agree that C&T is a good idea as is Spell Law, beyond that every optional rule in every suppliment needs evaluating as to whether it fits with your vision of M.E. (without the full stops, that looked really egotistical!) and the game you want to play. I was in a game where the GM had lots of armies involved and he used War Law I think.

MERP is best experienced as a "tight" game IMO.  Limiting spell lists in particular creates a greater separation between the PCs and mundane folk of ME.

MERP works well if you drop the entire realm of Channeling and only have Essence and Mentalism.
