Emer 3.

Shadowstone is great, but is not as useful as EmerIII will be.

Now go out and buy Xa-ar! And please take a moment to review it!   ;)

OK, where? I do not see it here in the ICE shop.

Just downloaded Xa-ar... can't wait to check it out!

I'd love to see Emer III, though Urulan would be a close second...

Some first impressions:
the overall design is fine, some nice handout, nice pictures, well done.
Reading through the content tabel really made me curious-fantastic, at the end information about the Iron Wind, Ulor,... a lot of stuff I was waiting a long time for.
I first concentrated on the chapter "Setting". And at the moment, without having read the adventur section, I?ve really mixed feelings about the book. Basically there some really nice new ideas, new forces and stories generated.
On the other hand there is again an attitude not to deal at all with details and if so game statistics are more concentrated on than backround information. For example section 5.3. "Forces of Ulor". App 1 and a half pages, the introduction of a new "Lady of Ulor" and some new Strike Team. Lenghty describtions of fighting styles. But nothing at all about details of Ulor.
It gives the expression that to add something new (with really, really good ideas) renders the further detail work on the older ideas unnecessary. Now I?m looking forward for the adventure section.

I voted for new ShadowStone chronicles...
As they are the only futures visions that we can have.

I am the one you warned me of.

I remember a vote like this before and I went for Urulan.

Pretty sure it won the vote back then too!.....but it's not an option this time. :-[

Out of the options given I'll vote for Artifacts 'cos I remember you had started it before so maybe its a smaller project (therefore faster?) than the others.....not to mention its one I particular want to see!

Terry

Haven't played in Shadow world for a log time, due to running my own world, but I will definitely buy this module. Keep up the good work.

As "All of the above" wasn't an option, I voted for Emer III. What would Artifacts & Lost Technology be like? Similar to Treasures of Middle Earth, where a lot of the material was from previously published work, or totally new stuff, or maybe a rewrite of old stuff or some combination?

The only published stuff that could wiggle it's way in Artifacts and Lost Technology is what can be found in the Atlas Addendum of the Emer box. ( well, there's a few bits scattered here and there in all the books, the the main part is in the AA )
And unless you're interested in the RM2/SM2 stats for a beta drone or an omega drone ( and I have no idea what you're going to do with them ;D ) most of the rest is described in other books.
But my memory might be faulty in that, it's been so long I've toyed with these things...
514 to see, 416 to lock, 614 to shot...Target downed...Ask the marines to pick up the pieces.

RM, RM2, RMSS, RMFRP, HARP,  MERP, Cyberspace, SM, SM2, SM:P, Star Strike, Armored Assault, SD , SD : The Next Millenium, Bladestorm, Battle of the Five Armies .... Collecting ICE production since the epoch...

i voted for lost artifacts

but any sourcebooks for kulthea would be great.

I voted artifacts because every once in a while i read the dreaded sentence: "more about that in lost artifacts" :)

Definitely Emer III for me, as this is the continent on which almost all the adventures I run take place.

I've just finished the first read of the book, at first glance I loved the layout, that always prefered instead of the new ICE "a la D20", it's easier to read and cheaper to print. The cover is nice and the art from mr.Tibaud it's damn good.

Bon courage m.Tibaud, votre art c'est excellent.

The quality of the content it's as usual, lots of new ideas, lots of small tips that give flesh to this world, and several adventures to work with. The only thing I know my players will tell me if I run these games, it's that everybody in Kulthea has a hidden agenda, everywhere there are cabals, secret orders, etc. But I like it that way. ;D

Layout: 9
Art and maps: 9
Content: 9 (only Jaiman & Eidolon are 10)  ;)

There are quite a few places where something similar is written. eg, Isle of Fire in Emer I. Whilst I don't expect any proper fleshing out of these things soon, are there any hints as to what they might be. So, if necessary, something could be created (or something existing hammered into shape) by fans.

Thanks fac!

Hope you'll post your review elsewhere.  :-)

Well I guess I can't argue about Eidolon especially. It's more isolated so was easier to do in some ways, but that city map was a labor of love. I worked over that on my drawing board with pen and inks and brush for months. But that was before the current technology.

And Cabals, secret orders? Well. Doesn't that make it more interesting?  ;-)

Okay kids, I'm pulling out the old Emer files and starting to organize Emer III, happy?  ;)  I'm not looking forward to the map...

I am also going to work on another Shadowstone chapter though, so there!

Woot!

For the record, which part of Emer is Emer III? The Southwest or the Southeast?

Southeast. It is much less densely settled than the rest and rather wild. But there used to be civilizations there... and there is the Isle of Jade.
